Daddy's Little Girl

Dear Dad,

Some people think there is a negative connotation with being a Daddy's girl, or a Mama's boy.  I however, wear the title proudly.  I found this poem, and it reminded me of the way I feel about you:

"My daddy was my hero

For my very youngest years;

Daddy kept me safe and happy,

And he chased away my fears.

I watched in awe and wonder

At each manly thing he did;

Oh, I looked up to my daddy,

When I was a little kid.

My dad was still my hero,

As the years passed, one by one.

He taught important lessons,

And he took some time for fun.

He was my firm foundation;

On my dad I did depend;

He was always there for me,

My dad, my guide, my friend.

My father is my hero,

Now that I am fully grown.

I love him and respect him,

The best man I've ever known.

I knew when I would marry

That my husband had to be

A great man, just like my father,

Dad, my hero you'll always be."

You see Dad, I really didn't stand a chance not being a Daddy's girl.  How could I with you for my Father?  I am blessed in countless ways having you as my Dad.  Thank you for being the man that you are.  Thank you for being such a wonderful example of what a Father, Husband, Friend, and Man should be.  I love you and wish you the happiest of birthdays!  xoxo

Love Always,
     One of Daddy's Little Girls

I am the proud father of this wonderful, compassionate, loving, and selfless young woman who is my beautiful daughter, and she has just blessed her Dad beyond words with this wonderful tribute of affirmation, because heaven, and my family know that I am far from perfect, and have made more than my share of mistakes. But my loving family and the Lord of my life have bestowed upon me forgiveness, and grace for my failures. The greatest gift that I can give to my family is to reflect the love that Jesus has given to me, unconditionally. I have been blessed beyond measure...

Stacy, I love you with all of my heart honey and I will forever, Dad
